Ryan Reynolds is a huge soccer fanatic, so there is little reason to wonder why the ‘Deadpool’ actor bought a property in Marford, a small village in Wales — and only five miles from where his club is located.

As co-owner of the Welsh Wrexham AFC, Reynolds has a solid interest in spending time in the region.

Ryan Reynolds’ Welsh soccer team

Reynolds has reportedly become hugely popular in Wales since he bought the team in 2020. He and fellow actor Rob McElhenney have reportedly spent over $12 million on marketing and promotion for the team.

Fans, and even his friend and business partner McElhenney, have said that the actor has made a serious commitment to the soccer club, as well as making genuine efforts to learn the culture and even the language.

The locals can’t wait to welcome Ryan Reynolds

A source told the Sun Newspaper that Reynolds is the talk of the town in Marford.

“Ryan is moving to Marford and it’s all the locals can talk about,” the source said. “His house is on the poshest road.”

“The most famous person from Marford is Tim Vincent from Blue Peter, so a Hollywood star is a step up!” they continued. “It might not be the Big Apple but the red carpet will be rolled out when Ryan comes to town.”

WIll the Reynolds family make a move?

The 46-year-old Canadian-born actor currently lives in New York with his wife, ‘Gossip Girl’ star Blake Lively and their four children, in a multi-million dollar property.

Though it is unclear whether the Reynolds family will be making the Wales estate their permanent home, the family have attended several Wrexham AFC games and events, as Reynolds and his business partner look to promote the team to a more competitive level.
