Why Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton won’t celebrate New Year’s Eve together
The ex-No Doubt singer had originally planned to be with her “The Voice” co-star on 31 December, but things have changed.
There has been plenty of speculation in recent times surrounding the relationship of The Voice co-stars Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, with the former No Doubt singer’s revelation the couple would be spending New Year’s Eve apart adding to suggestions all was not well in paradise.
Ahead of the recent season finale of the reality competition television series, Stefani told Access Hollywood they had originally planned to bring in the New Year together, only for work to get in the way.

“Well, it’s funny because I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas. So I was like, ‘Eh, I’m gonna do it.’ If you’re gonna be working then I’m gonna be working. So I’m just gonna fly in and out it’s gonna be awesome. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Country music singer Shelton is scheduled to perform at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, while Stefani has agreed to hit Vegas for the second year in succession.
Singers enjoy Italian-themed family Christmas meal
However, the couple’s recent social media activity has reassured fans rumours of a potential split are wide of the mark.
The singers shared a sped-up video of their Italian-themed family Christmas meal on their respective Instagram accounts. The “Don’t Speak” star is seen alongside Shelton and other relatives preparing and enjoying a number of different pasta dishes, with her three children, who she shares with Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale, also appearing.

After co-starring on season seven of The Voice in 2014, Stefani and Shelton revealed they were in a relationship in November 2015, announced their engagement in October 2020 and married in at his Oklahoma ranch in July 2021. Since getting together, they have collaborated on music a number of times, including the songs “Nobody but You” and “Happy Anywhere”, which both reached number one in the U.S. Country Airplay chart.
