Why isn’t Travis Kelce attending the 2024 VMAs with Taylor Swift?
Taylor Swift is the artist with the most nominations at the 2024 VMAs, but her boyfriend Travis Kelce will not be at her side for her big night. Here’s why.
On the night of Sept. 11, New York will be geared up to celebrate another edition of the MTV Video Music Awards, also known as the VMAs. The ceremony will take place at the USB Arena in Long Island, at 8 p.m. ET. Megan Thee Stallion will be in charge of hosting.
As for the nominees, Taylor Swift leads the pack with 12, so the 34-year-old superstar could be walking home with more than one coveted ‘Spaceman’ statuette tonight. While this was the perfect opportunity for the star and her partner, Travis Kelce, to walk the red carpet, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will not be able to accompany Swift to the event.

Why isn’t Travis Kelce attending the 2024 VMAs with Taylor Swift?
According to an insider who spoke to Page Six, Swift will be present at tonight’s gala. However, Kelce will not be at her side, as he has work commitments that prevent him from attending the event.
“Travis was supposed to return to Kansas City on Tuesday to practice,” the insider revealed to the media outlet.
Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday, Sept. 15, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. The game is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET. Swift is expected to attend the game to show her support for Kelce.

Travis Kelce shows his support for Taylor Swift
Despite not being present at tonight’s gala, Kelce expressed his support for Swift through the podcast he runs with his brother Jason called “New Heights.”
“Hopefully Taylor can pick up some [awards],” Kelce said during the latest episode of his podcast. “She’s up for like 10 of those awards tonight. Go Tay! Go Tay!” he added while clapping his hands together.
