Why won’t Jenna Ortega return to ‘Scream VIII?
According to Entertainment Tonight, the departure of Jenna Ortega has nothing to do with the dismissal of Melissa Barrera. In fact, it has been announced that the actress had already requested to end her contract with Scream several months ago - even before the SAG-AFTRA strike began.
The reason for Ortega’s departure has to do with scheduling problems. The famous Wednesday Addams has to travel to Ireland in April 2024 to continue filming of the second season of the aforementioned Netflix hit. According to Deadline, the recording of Wednesday will extend until the summer of next year, so the actress will not be able to fulfill her obligations in Scream, even though the film has not yet got a script, the tentative filming dates would clash with her other projects she has lined up.
