Taylor Swift is no stranger to the Grammys. From her first nomination (Best New Artist)  in 2008, she has built up quite a collection - taking 12 awards home with her out of 52 nominations. She made her Grammy debut at the 51st edition in 2009, performing a live duet with Miley Cyrus of her Fearless album track Fifteen.

She was back the following year, to perform two of her own songs: Today Was a Fairytale and You Belong With Me, and was joined on stage with Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks for a rendition of her 1976 self-penned single Rhiannon (Will You Ever Win). In total, Taylor has taken the stage at seven Grammy ceremonies as well as attending to accept an award or two.

So will the singer be seen at this year’s event, set to take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday 4 February? Some reports had claimed that Swift will be performing but that has since been denied by celebrity news channel Entertainment Tonight. However, she is expected to attend the ceremony in which she is up for six awards.

Taylor Swift 2024 Grammy nominations

  • Best Pop Vocal Album (Midnights)
  • Album of the Year (Midnights)
  • Song Of The Year (Anti-Hero)
  • Record of the Year (Anti-Hero)
  • Best Pop Solo Performance (Anti-Hero)
  • Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (Karma)

Immediately after attending the Grammys, Taylor will fly out to Japan to relaunch her Eras Tour. Her first date of the Asia leg is at the Tokyo Dome on 7 February. Her three-night stint in Tokyo concludes on 10 February which leaves her in a dilemma. Her boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on the 11th - on the other side of the world. A direct flight from Tokyo to Las Vegas takes around 12 and a half hours, which means that Taylor would be cutting it fine to race back in time for the NFL showpiece and cheer Travis on the stands.

And Travis has already confirmed that unfortunately, he won’t be accompanying Taylor to the Grammys: “Everybody in this building knows my intentions. Football is my main focus right now,” he told reporters after the Chiefs’ AFC Championship game victory over the Baltimore Ravens last weekend. “There’s a lot of people counting on me in this building, in this city and in this organization. This is my No.1 focus. It’s in my heart to be able to pour everything I’ve got out there on the field. People can perceive what they want. But I want to make sure that the guys, the men and women in this building, knew that I was 100 percent focused on this team and getting this team to where we are, where we’re going next week.”

It looks like it’s going to be a hectic month for the Cruel Summer singer, who could edge up the all-time Grammys ranking for the most successful female artists. With 12 awards lined up on her mantelpiece, she is a long way off matching Beyoncé, who has picked up 32 Grammys but Taylor is expected to win at least one at this year’s event (she’s favorite for Album of the Year) which would pull her level with five iconic artists: Leontyne Price, Ella Fitzgerald, Emmylou Harris, Lady Gaga and Bonnie Raitt, who all have 13.
