Will the Kardashians be left off the 2023 Met Gala guest list?
Kim Kardashian has been a regular at the event in recent years, but will that change in 2023?
Although the entire Kardashian family attended last year’s Met Gala, it looks like the family may be excluded from his year’s 2023 Met Gala guest list.
Why the Kardashian’s may not be in attendance
Last year’s event marked the first time the whole family of reality TV stars - Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall, Kylie and Kris Jenner - attended the event, but sources tell Page Six that may change this year.
Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, who oversees the guest list for the annual event, has reportedly decided that she doesn’t want any of the Kardashian-Jenners in attendance.
The alleged move comes after the event has come under criticism in recent years for inviting lower tier celebrities, as well as influencers.
However, a source close to the family claims it is false that the reality stars haven’t been invited, though it’s unclear whether they would attend the event without an invitation.
Last year marked the first time that Kourtney and Khloé had ever attended the show, though the latter claims she had other opportunities to do so in the past.
“I’m not big on red carpets. I think I’ve made that very clear,” she said on Hulu’s ‘The Kardashians’.
Kim and the Met Gala
Kim Kardashian first attended the Met Gala back in 2013 while pregnant with her first child with then-husband Kanye West.
She has since become a regular at the event, wearing outfits by Givenchy, Lanvin, Roberto Cavalli, Balmain, Vivienne Westwood and Versace.
The 2020 Met Gala was canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but Kim marked her return in 2021 with an all-black Balenciaga bodysuit and a black mask that covered her entire face.
Last year she attended the event in a dress that was famously worn by Marilyn Monroe when she sang Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy.
The move angered preservationists who worried about it being damaged.

Founded in 1948, The Met Gala, or Met Ball, formally called the Costume Institute Gala or the Costume Institute Benefit, is an annual fundraising gala held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.
This year’s Met Gala theme will be ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ in honor of the late fashion icon, who sadly passed away back in February 2019.
