Writers’ strike halts production on ‘The Last of Us’ season 2

‘The Last of Us’ is the latest show to be affected by the Writers Guild of America strike.

‘The Last of Us’ is the latest show to be affected by the Writers Guild of America strike with production on season two being suspended for the time being.

It’s been reported by several sources that actors were reading dialogue lines directly from ‘The Last of Us Part II’ video game due to the fact that the scripts for season two have not been written yet.

The lack of scripts is supported by sightings of co-creator and showrunner Craig Mazin picketing with fellow members of the Writers Guild. It’s been reported that co-creator Neil Druckmann has also stopped working on the show.

Both Mazin and Druckmann wrote episodes for season one.

Bella Ramsey on ‘The Last of Us’

Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, hopes for more fighting sequences in season two.

“I’m very open to anything,” they told L’Officiel USA. “I’m looking forward to seeing how Craig and Neil adapt the story of the second game into another season. What I’m actually looking forward to is fighting more, but that’s just for me, not really for Ellie.”

Ramsey went on to explain that intense roles are often the ones that get sent to their agent.

“Maybe I just look like I have a depressed face or something. But I really like them,” Ramsey said. “I like putting myself through emotional torture in a very safe environment that ends at the end of the day.

“I mean, it sort of ends. Part of it, I carry with me, but that’s fine. I’ll go to therapy for that at some point. I just find it so exciting to get a chance to feel things that I never would feel otherwise.”

Ramsey on working with Pedro Pascal

They also spoke highly of their co-star, Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel, Ellie’s father figure.

“I adore him. He’s just a very safe person,” Ramsey said. “I felt instantly safe with him and was so relieved that we got along. I was so worried.

“I put so much pressure on our relationship because I knew that we had the rest of the year together, and then press, and then more seasons. The minute that I actually let go of that pressure, we just bonded.

“He’s the best. He’s so kind and generous and we had a lot of fun. We were like two little kids messing about.”
