WWE Hall-of-Famer ‘Superstar’ Billy Graham currently on life support
Graham has reportedly been battling serious health problems over two decades.
WWE Hall-of-Famer ‘Superstar’ Billy Graham is currently on life support, according to the wrestler’s wife, Valerie. In an update shared by the wrestler’s wife, she asked for ‘urgent prayers’ for her husband.
Superstar Billy Graham, whose real name is Eldridge Wayne Coleman, is a retired professional wrestler and former bodybuilder. Graham first wrestled in what is now called the WWE in 1975.
Graham retired from professional wrestling in the early 1980s due to various health issues, including hip problems and steroid abuse.
His contributions to the wrestling industry, both in terms of his in-ring work and his unique personality, have left a lasting impact on the sport.
Updates from wife
In an update shared on Facebook, Valerie said, “Please urgent prayers needed for my husband. The doctors wanted to remove him from life support tonight. I refused.”
“He’s a fighter and his will is strong even if his body isn’t. God is our hope.”
Graham has been in the hospital for a number of months dealing with a “myriad of very serious health issues” and has been in the ICU for many weeks, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help him and his family. At the time of writing, the page has raised $15,150 of the targeted $25,000.
The GoFundMe reads, “Friends, Wayne (Billy) has had a very rough run lately. He coded, but God decided that it was not his time to go, and brought him back to us! He is going on over three weeks in the Mayo hospital ICU, checked into a rehab center, and is now back at the Mayo.”
Myriad of health issues
“He is dealing with a myriad of very serious health issues: a major infection in his ears and skull that may take six months of intravenous IVs, congestive heart failure, diabetes, hearing loss as a result of the infection, and the list goes on.
“He is facing a long period of rehab, and his insurance will only pay a portion of this. He is facing at least two months in a skilled nursing facility, once he is stabilized and released from the Mayo hospital. Wayne has lost 45 pounds in the last three weeks.”
According to an update on the page from the end of April, Coleman is suffering from kidney issues and bedsores now as well. Valerie also contracted Covid-19 and is also struggling with her health.
