Some stores, such as Costco, Walmart, and Amazon, have electronics trade-in programs, offering discount codes or gift cards in exchange for your items. However, certain items, which can be collected, can yield a higher profit.

Financial portal GOBankingRates consulted with Thomas Paddock, consumer trends analyst and shopping expert and founder of Learn Retail Arbitrage, to determine 10 items that could be worth a lot of money. Here is the list.

Original Apple iPod

A brand new first-generation iPod sold for $29,000 on the collectibles investment platform Rally in 2023. The iPod was sold still in its original, sealed packaging.

Even if it is not new, an original iPod in good condition could sell for $500 or a few thousand dollars.

Nintendo Game Boy

This item can fetch a price of between $50 and $3,000.

Sony Walkman TPS-L2

If you have a forgotten Sony Walkman TPS-L2 in good condition, you can get between $500 and $2,500.

Antique rotary phones

These phones can sell for between $50 and $500.

Original Polaroid instant cameras

Due to the rise of instant photography, original Polaroid instant cameras can sell for between $50 and $200.

Atari 2600 console

The world of video games is important to some collectors. An Atari 2600 console can sell for anywhere from $50 to $2,000.

Commodore 64 home computer

This popular computer could cost between $100 and $700.

First edition of Tamagotchi

Another treasure from the 90s is the Tamagotchi. This can fetch between $20 and $50 if it's already been used and up to $300 if it's still in its packaging.

Sony Trinitron TVs

These televisions are priced from $100 to $500.

Texas Instruments Speak & Spell

The popular Texas Instruments Speak & Spell educational toy can sell for between $50 and $300.

This device was designed in the 1970s and when it finally came to market was the first time that an educational toy utilized speech that did not come from a tape or phonograph recording.
