$100 million price tag: Andrew Tate wants Meta and TikTok to pay for closing his accounts
The controversial influencer was banned from the social media platforms in 2022 after being charged with rape and human trafficking.

Andrew Tate and brother Tristan are suing two social media companies who banned their accounts in 2022, in the wake of criminal charges of human trafficking and other offenses.
Both Tate brothers have had their Meta (parent company of Facebook) and TikTok accounts deactivated after being arrested in Romania. They are dual U.S.-British citizens and were also charged in the UK with rape and other crimes back in May of this year.
Andrew and Tristan Tate have been prominent voices in the online ‘manosphere’, a vague connection of communities that have been known to forward violent and misogynistic ideologies. Now, they have launched two lawsuits in Los Angeles that alleged that Meta and TikTok are guilty of “deplatforming” them for their views.
The lawsuits claim that the ban orders were “not an isolated enforcement action grounded in neutral application of its Terms of Use, rather, it was the culmination of a coordinated campaign to suppress, silence, and destroy the reputations and livelihoods of two controversial but law-abiding men.”
As a result, the Tate brothers are demanding $50 million each from both Meta and TikTok for “emotional distress, business interference, and misappropriation.”
The suit adds: “At the time, the Plaintiffs collectively commanded an audience of tens of millions, generated significant revenue through lawful online enterprises, and were among the most visible public figures on TikTok’s platform”.
Speaking on his X account, reinstated by Elon Musk back in November 2022, Andrew Tate claimed that he has put aside $400 million to take on the companies, along with “every single girl who lied about me …the BBC, all mainstream media across Australia UK and USA ..every twitter account that defamed me.”
Andrew and Tristan Tate are currently living in Dubai, where they have resided since British prosecutors charged the brothers with sexual assault and other crimes earlier this year.
