$1,800 Social Security payments on September 13: Who will receive them?
The distribution of Social Security payments continues. Find out who will receive a check for $1,800 this Wednesday, September 13.
Month after month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) issues millions of checks to all beneficiaries of its program, the majority of whom are retired workers.
Anyone who has worked for a minimum period of 10 years and meets the minimum retirement age, which is 62 years, may be eligible for monthly Social Security payments, as long as they have the payment of the corresponding taxes during their working time. The exact amount to receive depends on each situation; that is, the total years worked, the age of the beneficiary when requesting retirement and the salary received throughout the working years.
The SSA announced the average payment for a retired individual is $1,827 in 2023, with the possibility of collecting the maximum benefit of $2,572 for those who retire at the minimum age (62 years), $3,627 for workers who retire at full retirement age (67 years) and $4,555 for those who retire at age 70 or later.
Who will receive the $1,800 payment this Wednesday?
The distribution of payments is made on a monthly basis and is linked to the date of birth of the beneficiaries. Retired workers who were born between the 1st and the 10th receive the money on the second Wednesday of the month; those with a date of birth from the 11th to the 20th, the third Wednesday, and those from the 21st to the 31st, the last.
It is worth mentioning that those workers who retired before May 1997, as well as those who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, do not fall under this payment scheme since they receive the money during the first days of the month.
Taking into account the SSA payment schedule, the beneficiaries who will receive an average check of $1,827 next Wednesday, September 13, are those who were born between the 1st and 10th of the month.
Social Security payment schedule for September
The payment dates for the rest of the beneficiaries, in relation to this month of September, are the following:

For October, the first day falls on a Sunday, which means the payment for this month’s SSI beneficiaries will be brought forward to Friday, 29 September.
