$1,900 Social Security payments: Exact sending dates in January 2024
The Social Security Administration follows a strict schedule so recipients of benefits know exactly when their money will be delivered every month.
The date on which retired workers receive their monthly payment depends on their day of birth, while Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits are distributed on the first of each month. Because 1 January, 2024 was a federal holiday, the first SSI payment was moved forward and sent on Friday, 29 December, 2023.

- Birthday (1-10): Wednesday, 10 January
- Birthday (11-20): Wednesday, 17 January
- Birthday (21-31): Wednesday, 24 January
*Also applies to beneficiaries who receive Social Security and SSI

Supplemental Security Income
Payments for SSI are made on the first of the month unless it falls on a holiday or weekend. In those cases, it will paid on the previous business day. January’s payment was thus sent out on 29 December, 2023.
