First lady Jill Biden presented first Best Song for Social Change winner: Iranian artist Shervin Hajipour
Meanwhile, something incredible happened at tonight's 2023 Grammys...
First lady Jill Biden presented the first-ever Grammy for Best Song for Social Change and it went to Iranian artist Shervin Hajipour for his song "Baraye." The song, which has been labeled the anthem for Iran's protest movement, was sparked by the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini.
Biden said the song was "a powerful and poetic call for freedom and women's rights " before noting that Hajipour has been arrested by Iranian authorities two days after posted a video of himself singing “Baraye” on Instagram on Sept. 27, 2022.
The song was viewed more than 40 million times on his Instagram page before authorities took it down on the day of his arrest.
Lizzo was not expecting a Grammy tonight
But she got one, and it's the record of the year. Her song 'It's about damn time' has made headlines and got her a big one. But through it all, Lizzo continues to look up to one main queen...
Bonnie Raitt wins award for Song of the Year with "Just Like That"
American blues singer Bonnie Raitt won the award for Song of the Year for "Just Like That" and her reaction was priceless.
Adele accepting her Grammy Award
As we take a moment to appreciate all the great artists at the 2023 Grammys, we also take a moment to appreciate Adele's 4-season vocal cords, and well... genuinity.
We love you Adele!
It's Adele's moment of truth
Congrats to Adele, who just won the Best Pop Solo Performance at the 2023 Grammys for 'Easy on me'
What's music without HipHop? What's the Grammys without 50 years of celebrating it?
Hip-hop has defined cultures, united legends together made the Grammys and the Super Bowl what they are today... that's why the 65th edition of the Grammys isn't complete without the celebration of 50 years of Hiphop. From Missy making you lose control, to getting you Hot in here... Thank you hiphoppers
Mary J Blige makes music move
We know Beyoncé has totally stolen the night, but sometimes we look at Mary J. Blige and just say thank you.
Go Beyoncé!!!
Beyoncé makes history with winning the Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for "Renaissance" to now have the most wins in Grammys history with 32.
Go B!!!
The moment Trevor Noah delivered Beyoncé her Grammy Award
Only to catch Jay Z eating crackers and looking vividly uninterested...
Aaaand we're feeling unholy...
Sam Smith went from being Best New Artist to being unholy at the Grammys with an incredible performance. And we're right there with him...
Emotional tribute to Takeoff
Takeoff, who was shot and killed in Houston, Texas in November, had a special moment back with us tonight when Migos rapper Quavo performed a tribute to the 28-year-old, three months after his killing.
The lyrics speak to Quavo’s grief for his loved one.
Seriously though B...
We love a special Beyonce moment at the Grammys and we love DJ Khaled's reaction in the background even more. Yeah it's all smiles back there... just zoom in
Music's Biggest Night on fire
What a show so far.
Beyoncé arrives late at the Grammys but looks stunning as ever and ties for most Grammys wins. EGOT winner Viola Davis got a well-deserved standing O.
Sam Smith didn;t only win a Grammy but literally all LGBTQ rights when he shined the spotlight on Kim Petras as she became the first transgender person to win a Grammy for best pop duo/group performance for their song "Unholy."
Bad Bunny proved to us there is no summer without him, while Harry Styles literally looked like summer.
Special tribute moment
Tonight, the Grammys pay special tribute to Loretta Lynn, Takeoff, Christine McVie, and all songbirds that we have lost this year. Their legacy will forever be with us.
Grammy to Kendrick Lamar!
Congrats Best Rap Album winner - ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’. Lamar, you legend
The African Michael Jackson
Now, our lovely readers, let’s give a little attention to Trevor Noah- as if you don’t already know him- or if you have simply watched him so many times before you actually don’t know as much about him as you might think…
Here’s what the Instagram bio of the 38-year-old reads: ‘Comedian from South Africa. I was in the crowd when Rafiki held Simba over the edge of the cliff, like an African Michael Jackson.’
This is tonight’s host, everyone.
And now stay tuned, and don't miss the rest of the Grammys with us and Noah!
Queen B turning heads, as always
And since we're talking Beyonce, who somehow just arrived at the Grammys because of traffic, let's talk Queens.
Queen B just won a Grammy for her song 'Cuff it', and while we didn't get the chance to have her up on stage, and see her all glammed-up, we did see her look magical yesterday at Roc Nation's brunch in L.A. Other star-studded celebrities made an appearance like Anitta, Snoh Aalegra, and obviously, Roc Nation founder Jay-Z —but it was the one and only Beyoncé who turned heads around. The Renaissance singer showed up to brunch in a glamorous alien-like dress that had queen B written all over it.
Harry Styles wuth a rip snorting version of As It Was, with the British singer in a very shiny silver spangly suit.
Bad Bunny wins the best Best Música Urbana Album winner
- 'Un Verano Sin Ti' has not only made headlines for Bad Bunny, but it's also won him a Grammy. No matter how controversial, 'El Conejo Malo' has surely changed the game for Urban music in like... three different generations...

Beyonce, everyone!
While Bad Bunny got Taylor Swift dancing during the Grammys opening performance, Harry Styles took home the first award of the night, followed by Beyonce's Cuff it! Queen B is now tied for the most Grammy wins in history!
Trevor Noah explaining that Beyoncé is on her way. Lots of complaining about the traffic... it is L.A...
Winner of Best R&B Song: Cuff It by Beyoncé!!
Taylor Swift absolutely loves that!
Viola Davis up to announce Best R & B song...
People STILL filing in to the theatre for the Grammys. "THIS IS LIVE" Trevor reminds us.

Harry Styles ready to perform in a jumper that screams his name on it
Harry Styles, the English singer and songwriter who's known for his interesting choice of outfits and comfort with his femininity, does it again. The 29-year-old shows up in a jumper that has his name all over it

While we’re here talking up the Grammys and the incredible artists that we’re seeing tonight, we might as well be real and talk about the not-so-good things about the event. Let’s quickly remind our readers about what happened in 2021 that led to a dramatic fall of the Grammys, and a one-year hiatus with no in-person ceremony.
In 2021, it became public that no Black correspondents had been added to the organization’s membership since 2002. The organization was even exploited for racial bias, neglecting non-white artists by media outlets and fans having been brought up for decades.
Combined with the current HFPA membership, the total Golden Globe Awards voting body is now 52% female, 51.5% racially and ethnically diverse, with 19.5% Latinx, 12% Asian, 10% Black and 10% Middle Eastern.
Over the last year, the organization has worked to expand its membership, focusing on bringing in writers from marginalized backgrounds.
Who Is Performing At The 2023 GRAMMYs?
Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Lizzo, Kim Petras, and Sam Smith are all taking the GRAMMY stage.
First Lady Jill Biden, Dwayne Johnson, and James Corden — as well as current Grammy nominees Viola Davis and Billy Crystal, and Grammy winners Shania Twain, Cardi B, and Olivia Rodrigo — will take the stage to present the winners with their awards.
Who is leading this year’s Grammys nominees?
Beyoncé leads the 2023 Grammy Awards with nine nods, including categories like Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for her latest album “Renaissance.”
Kendrick Lamar comes in next with eight nominations, including Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Song of the Year for his album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.”
Brandi Carlile and Adele are tied with seven nominations each for their albums “In These Silent Days” and “30″ being chart toppers in 2022
Mary J. Blige, Future, and Harry Styles, who each have six nominations for the award show, are the last big winners in terms of nominations.
Take a look at the first-time nominees and the full list of nominees here.
