$914 Direct Payment from Social Security on August 1
After receiving two payments in June and zero in July, some Social Security recipients will get their next payment 1 August. Here’s who will receive them.
Month after month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) issues millions of payments to program beneficiaries; who are mostly retired workers. However, there are some people with disabilities who may be eligible for Supplemental Security Income payments (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).
Whatever your case may be, if you are a Social Security beneficiary, the Administration will send your payment automatically month after month according to the check distribution schedule. Below we will explain who is receiving a payment of up to $914 dollars on August 1.

$914 Direct Payments from Social Security on August 1: Who Will Get It?
The exact amount that is received each month depends on each person’s situation, however, the SSA notes that the average monthly payment in 2023 for a retired worker in the United States is $1,827; while SSI recipients may be eligible for a payment of $550 per month on average, with the possibility of collecting up to $914 as a maximum benefit for an individual and $1,371 for a married couple in which both spouses are eligible for the program.
The payment date for retired workers is linked to the day of their birth; while SSI recipients receive their check every first day of the month, when that date doesn’t fall on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday. In the event that that should happen, the date of the payment is moved forward to the earlier business day as was the case for July when the payment was made on 30 June.
That being said, people who will receive a check up to $914 on August 1 are recipients of Supplemental Security Income or SSI.
Social Security Payment Schedule for August
As for retired workers, as mentioned, the date depends on their day of birth. Those who were born between the 1st and 10th receive the money on the second Wednesday of the month, while those whose birthday falls between the 11th and 20th, do so on the third Wednesday and those from 21 to 31, the last. For beneficiaries who began receiving their payments before May 1997 the check is deposited on the first Wednesday of the month.
