Legendary rock and roll band Aerosmith has announced that it is retiring from touring. The group thanked its fans for supporting them for more than five decades.
“It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us from the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history,” they said in a statement on social media.
“It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become a part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour, and at moments grand and private, you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives,” they added.

Why is Aerosmith retiring from the stage?
According to their statement, they will be stepping away from the stage due to lead singer Steven Tyler’s vocal issues.
“He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from the touring stage,” the band said.

The group once again thanked those who were attending the tour, as well as their crew and the thousands of talented people who have made their historic careers possible.
“A final thank you to you - the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You’ve made our dreams come true.“
They advised ticket holders regarding the next steps they should take. Aerosmith clarified that those who purchased their tickets through Ticketmaster will receive an automatic refund. On the other hand, those who purchased through third-party resale sites such as SeatGeek, StubHub, VividSeats, etc., should contact their point of purchase for more details.
