Amazon Prime days: how many times a year are there offers and when are they?
Separate from Black Friday, this Amazon sale has just started but be warned that the deals may not be much better than other times of the year.
Amazon Prime Day, the annual shopping event exclusive to Prime members, will likely be held twice in 2024. The first Prime Day event is taking place on 16-17 July, 2024.
This two-day sale is expected to feature significant discounts across various categories, including electronics, home appliances, and fashion.
In addition to the July Prime Day, Amazon will likely host a second Prime Day event in October 2024. This sale is typically held during the second week of the month. While not as extensive as the July Prime Day, the October event still offers Prime members a chance to score deals before the holiday shopping season.
How Prime Day has changed in recent years
The frequency of Prime Day events has increased in recent years. In 2022, Amazon broke tradition by hosting two Prime Day sales events - one in July and another in October. This marked the first time Amazon offered Prime Day deals twice in a single year.
That July event saw the highest sales volume of any Prime Day to date, with a 21% increase over the previous year. However, the October 2022 “Prime Early Access Sale” experienced a 15% decline in sales compared to the July event, though it still outperformed Prime Days from earlier years.
