Anne Heche passed away at the age of 53 following fatal injuries she sustained from a car accident last week- a great loss to the TV and film industries.

Actress Anne Heche has passed away after succumbing to serious injuries she sustained in a terrible car accident last week. She suffered a serious anoxic brain injury that left her in a coma and in critical condition after her car crashed into a house in Los Angeles.

Heche will be missed for her many remarkable performances on television and the big screen, for which she reaped numerous awards.

Heche’s TV debut

She made her onscreen debut on the daytime soap opera Another World in 1987, and she dazzled with her acting from then on. She was awarded a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in her first TV show.

She made waves with the female-centric independent movie Walking and Talking in 1996, and after that she starred in a quick succession of hits. Heche appeared in Donnie Brasco, a crime drama film that also starred Al Pacino and Johnny Depp, then the disaster movie Volcano, the slasher film I Know What You Did Last Summer with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar, and the romantic comedy Six Days, Seven Nights, where she co-starred with Harrison Ford.

Heche was part of Wag the Dog, considered one of the best movies about politics, and turned in another memorable performance in the drama Birth, where she starred with Nicole Kidman.

The variety of genres of the films in which the actress appeared shows the wide range of her talents. She was nominated for awards for her performances in Six Days, Seven Nights, the horror film Psycho, and the drama Gracie’s Choice. Her talents extended to theater, garnering a Tony Award nomination for her role in the revival of the play Twentieth Century.

Heche is survived by her two sons, Homer and Atlas Heche Tupper.
