Apple will change iPhone messages in 2024: Will the blue and green bubbles disappear?
Apple will be making a change in its messaging system that will allow Android users to make use of iMessage features when they text iPhone owners.
Apple will finally adhere to a messaging standard that will allow a more seamless texting experience between iPhone and Android users. The company has announced that beginning later next year, it will be adding RCS or Rich Communication Services support to the iPhone.
What is RCS (Rich Communication Services) technology?
RCS is thought to be the superior option to SMS or short messaging service, whose messages are delivered through a cellular network’s SMS infrastructure.
RCS messages can be sent through a data connection, but can also be sent as traditional SMS if the recipient’s device or network does not support RCS. RCS also allows users to share high-quality images, videos, and other multimedia content directly within the messaging app.

The switch will allow iPhone and Android users to text each other using RCS, and those with Android phones will experience iMessage features such as typing indicators and read receipts.
“We believe RCS Universal Profile will offer a better interoperability experience when compared to SMS or MMS,” Apple said in a statement.
“This will work alongside iMessage, which will continue to be the best and most secure messaging experience for Apple users.”

Apple will change iPhone messages in 2024: Will the blue and green bubbles disappear?
One distinct feature of iMessage is that message bubbles appear blue, while those of Android users appear green. When iPhone users see green message bubbles, that usually means that the message was sent using MMS/MMS and not iMessage, indicating that the person was likely not using an Apple device.
So will the iPhone’s signature blue bubbles disappear?
It looks like those blue bubbles won’t be disappearing anytime soon. According to 9to5Mac, Apple has confirmed that the blue badge of the Apple tribe will still be used to represent iMessages, while green bubbles will represent RCS messages.
