Black Friday is historically the busiest day for shoppers in the US, with over 50% of them intending to buy a holiday present on this day. It’s important that consumers be able to access their funds as they take advantage of the slashed down prices on offer on this day.

Thanksgiving Day is a federal holiday when family and friends have no work or school and are therefore able to celebrate together, and many companies choose to extend the Thanksgiving holiday to the next day so that people can relax after their huge turkey dinner.

Black Friday is not a recognized bank holiday, meaning that most banks will be open on the popular sales day. However, some locations may have reduced holiday hours.
