Bank of America branches closing in January 2025: Full List
The new year will start with more branches closing for Bank of America. Here’s the list of locations that could be shuttered beginning January 2025.
Each week, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency or OCC shares a list of bank branches that will be closing in the coming months. Some of these bulletins include closures of several Bank of America locations, which could begin as early as January 2025.
Banks cannot close a branch overnight, as they must notify the OCC at least 90 days before the potential closing date. Such notification is made through an Advance Notice of Branch Closing, which is shared by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in weekly bulletins, published on its official website.

Among other reasons, banking institutions make the decision to close or relocate certain branches because they are not profitable in the city in which they are located. In recent years, closures have increased due to the rise of online banking.
As technology advances, customers' banking needs have changed, as the number of transactions that can be made outside the bank, whether at ATMs, on a mobile app or online banking, is increasing.
