Bed Bath & Beyond is making a comeback: Here’s its new name, store location, and when it opens

Bed Bath & Beyond is just one example of a brick-and-mortar retailer that struggled to compete as e-commerce took off. With enormous stores packed with merchandise, it couldn’t keep up with companies like Amazon and Walmart, which offered a seamless online shopping experience. Ultimately, the retailer declared bankruptcy in 2023.

Now, just a few years later, Bed Bath & Beyond is making a comeback—this time with a much smaller footprint.

Where will the new store open?

In late July, The Brand House Collective, formerly known as Kirkland Inc. (not to be confused with Costco’s private label), announced the opening of the first Bed Bath & Beyond Home in Brentwood, Tennessee, close to Nashville. That store opened its doors on August 8 and will serve as a testing ground for the company, which now owns the rights to the brand following bankruptcy. To celebrate the Nashville opening, customers were invited to bring in their old Bed Bath & Beyond coupons to save a bit of cash at launch.

“We’re proud to reintroduce one of retail’s most iconic names with the launch of Bed Bath & Beyond Home, beautifully reimagined for how families gather at home today,” said Amy Sullivan, CEO of The Brand House Collective.

Will more locations be opened?

That seems to be the plan. In June, BHC announced that, following the store opening in Brentwood, another five would be established. Some of the future locations could be conversions of Kirkland stores into Bed Bath & Beyond Home. Currently, around 75 conversions are planned through 2026, and the company plans to “co-brand the Kirkland’s Home website with Bed Bath & Beyond Home, creating a unified online experience as store conversions begin.”
