On Monday, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will send out the first payment for the month of July, which amounts up to $943 per person.

The SSA distributes checks to retired workers, survivors, and disability beneficiaries on specific dates each month. These payments include Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

As the payment schedule indicates, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments are sent on the first day of the month, so these will be sent out on Monday, July 1.

Thanks to the cost of living adjustment (COLA), maximum Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits rose to $943 for individuals and $1,415 for couples this year.

The amount of payments varies from beneficiary to beneficiary. Your amount may be less depending on your income, the income of certain members of your family, your living situation, and other factors.

When the rest of Social Security payments will be sent in July

On Wednesday, July 3, payments will be sent to those who began receiving their retirement benefits before May 1997. The rest of the payments (retirement, survivors and SSDI) will be sent on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of the month according to the day of birth of the beneficiaries.

This is the complete Social Security payment schedule for July:

  • Monday July 1: SSI Beneficiaries
  • Wednesday, July 3: Beneficiaries who began receiving their payments before May 1997
  • Wednesday, July 10: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between the 1st and the 10th
  • Wednesday, July 17: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between the 11th and the 20th
  • Wednesday, July 24: Beneficiaries with a date of birth between the 21st and the 31st

Payments are sent via direct deposit to beneficiaries who have given their bank account details to the SSA, or via mail in a paper check, which takes longer to arrive. If you do not receive your money on the indicated date, the SSA recommends that you wait three more days before getting in touch with the agency to give some time for mailing delays.
