Biden expected to drop out of race this weekend according to Democratic Party members

The pressure on President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 race continues to mount as he self-isolates at home in Delaware with a case of covid-19.

The chorus of Democrats and donors calling for President Joe Biden to exit the 2024 race for the White House has been getting ever louder since his disastrous debate performance. That’s come even as he has been out vigorously campaigning and hosting the 31 leaders of other NATO member nations.

The 81-year-old president has addressed the concerns about his age and acuity head-on at the same time saying that he is in the race to win it. Even so, top party leaders are also now asking him to seriously consider his viability as the Democratic candidate and the harm it could do for the rest of the party members down ballot.

Party congressional leaders and close friends are reportedly working to convince Biden to step aside as the party’s candidate in the 2024 election. According to Axios, those persuasion efforts could result in an announcement to the fact by as soon as this weekend.

The pressure may have ratcheted up even more for Biden with new reporting in The Washington Post that his former boss, President Barack Obama, has told associates that his path his path to victory has seriously diminished. He showed his support for his former VP after the debate saying on social media that “Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know.”

He’s also told others that only Biden can make the decision. But now Obama is said to think that “the president needs to seriously consider the viability of his candidacy” in order to protect his legacy.

His choice is to be one of history’s heroes, or to be sure of the fact that there’ll never be a Biden presidential library. I pray that he does the right thing. He’s headed that way,” a close friend to the president told Axios.

All eyes will be on the polling that comes out after the Republican National Convention which Democrats are expecting to foretell a landslide in November. And not just for Trump but the Republican party in the House and Senate too.

The presumptive Democratic nominee is currently self-isolating at home in Delaware which will keep him off the campaign trail for several days. A vital time when the party will be trying to counter message the Republican National Convention.
