Mowgli, known for her spontaneous and daring trips across Asia, recently booked a room in the Philippines for just €5.50 (around $6) per person. The catch? She didn’t see any photos beforehand and asked no questions about the accommodation.

But as it has been said: “Where there’s risk, there’s fun!” Her video about her $6 gamble on budget lodging, shared on Huffington Post, has gone viral, having already racked up over 180,000 views and continues to climb.

A series of unexpected surprises

From the moment she arrived, Mowgli knew this would be an experience like no other. The first thing that caught her eye wasn’t the room—but a dog with an infection. “Poor thing, its skin is in terrible shape,” she comments, momentarily distracted before stepping inside.

Then came surprise number two: a shared outdoor kitchen. “For cook? For me?” she asks the person guiding her around the hostel. “Yes, if you want to cook for yourself,” the staff member tells her.

Equipped with the essentials, it allowed guests to cook their own meals whenever they pleased. It was a small but welcome addition to the stay.

“We gonna sleep with another person?” She cannot believe it when the host says “no” and realizes the entire space was just for her and her friend.
