Can customers still get McDonald’s classics at CosMc’s?

McDonald’s has opened the first location of its new chain called CosMc’s in Illinois. Will the beverage-led restaurant offer McDonald’s menu classics?

McDonald’s has developed a new restaurant format to accelerate the growth of its business. It has launched CosMc’s, a beverage-led chain that is set to challenge Starbucks and Dunkin’.

With the boom of online ordering and delivery, the fast food giant considers that it is no longer necessary to open restaurants with large spaces for dining. The company has therefore developed the locations to have smaller dining rooms and more drive thrus.

The new chain’s name comes from one of the characters from the fictional world McDonaldland created by the franchise in the 1980s.

CosMc was a mascot that began appearing in advertisements for McDonalds in the late 80s. Dressed in yellow, the character was a hybrid between an alien and a robot who aimed to reach Planet Earth to enjoy the food at McDonald’s.

CosMc’s menu to focus on drinks

According to the company, CosMc’s is inspired by nostalgia that will feature a menu of bold and refreshing drinks.

Beverage options are based on unexpected flavor combinations and vibrant colors. Customers will also be able to customize their drinks with boba, syrups, vitamins and more. The new drinks range from lemonades and specialty teas to cold brew coffee.

CosMc’s menu also features several savory and sweet options for those who are looking for a bite to eat, from a spicy cheese sandwich and hash brown bites to lemon-blueberry cookie sundae and brownies.
