Can you return Prime Day deals? What is Amazon’s returns policy during this period?
The Amazon Prime Early Access Sale began on 11 October with a raft of great deals. We take a look at the returns terms for the huge sale event.
From Tuesday 11 October, retail giant Amazon is running a 48-hour sales spectacular that offers the best deals for its favourite customers. The Amazon Prime Early Access Sale will provide discounts for Prime members on a range of products.
This is the company’s first dedicated Prime sales event and it has introduced a number of new schemes to keep shoppers on their toes. Amazon will give Prime members early access to Lightning Deals, which are only available for a short period of time.
With the clock ticking there is a greater chance of an impulsive buy, and customers may soon be worrying about the retailer’s returns policy.
Well worry not, because the majority of items available on Amazon are covered by a 30-day returns policy. This means that customers have from 30 days after receipt of the product to change their mind and receive a full refund.
Products purchased as part of the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale, as is the case with any promotion, are fully covered by the standard Amazon returns policy.
Can I return faulty items after the 30-day window?
Depending on the product, Amazon does offer to repair or replace certain items if they are found to be defective. To claim a refund beyond the 30-day period, contact Amazon via the Returns Support Center to establish whether you are eligible.
You should note, this service does not apply to consumable products such as batteries, ink cartridges, light bulbs, etc.
Amazon devices, such as the Firestick, and related accessories are covered by a one-year limited warranty. This means that you will be covered for a refund or replacement if your device stops working with the first 12 months.
How long will it take for Amazon to issue a refund?
While all retailers have to offer some form of returns policy, the terms for the refund can vary greatly. Products shipped by Amazon should be refunded within 14 days, and will be accompanied by an automated email to confirm that the funds will be heading back to your account.
Bear in mind, however, that is may take an additional seven working days for your bank to credit your account with the money.
If the product was sold or dispatched by Amazon then the retailer will also refund the cost of sending back an item. You simply need to head over to Amazon’s Free Returns help page for more information on eligible products and how to claim the free returns.
