Chase’s 2024 Branch Update: The full list of the 200+ branches opened and closed
A look at all the new Chase branch locations and those that have closed, as the bank continues to adjust its physical presence.
Chase has continued to adapt its physical branch presence around the United States over the last year, opening more than 127 branches and closing an additional 89 permanently. As mobile banking helps customers take care of some of their needs without visiting a branch, the number across all banks has dropped over the last decade. However, so far this year, the number of locations established outnumbers the number closed.
Where has Chase opened and closed branches in 2024?
Of the 127 branches that have been opened, the states with the highest number of new Chase locations are Massachusetts, with 13 branches; Ohio, with 10; Pennsylvania, with 7; and California, Minnesota, New York, and Virginia, with six established.
When looking at the closure figures, it is important to note that Chase took control of First Republic Bank, which failed in the spring of 2023. The financial giant has opted to close many of First Republic’s branches while turning some of the others into locations of their own. California has seen 35 closures, New York follows in second place with 14, and Illinois in third with 9.
