Chicken nuggets and tenders recalled for possible metal contamination: list of affected products
The Department of Agriculture has announced the recall of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nugget and tender products for possible metal contamination.
The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced the recall of over 167,000 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nugget and tender products due to potential metal contamination.
Perdue Foods issued the recall after people complained that they found metal wire embedded in the product. The company then notified the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the matter.
The USDA agency said it is worried that the recalled products have already found their way into the kitchens of consumers. So far, there have been no reports of customers suffering adverse reactions from consuming products involved in the recall.
If you suspect that you ate the affected chicken and sustained an injury or illness from it, the office advises you to contact a healthcare provider.
