Chris Nanos, Sheriff, on the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother: “We know she didn’t just walk out of there”
The 84-year-old mother of Today show cohost Savannah Guthrie went missing sometime on Saturday night and police are treating her disappearance as a crime.

Some time after 9:30 pm on Saturday, Nancy Guthrie went missing from her home near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue, just north of Tucson, Arizona. That was the last time that anyone saw the 84-year-old mother of ‘Today’ show cohost Savannah Guthrie.
Her family reported the disappearance to police around noon Sunday. What was found at the elderly woman’s home caused “grave concern” and authorities said foul play can’t be ruled out. On Monday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said during a press conference: “We know she didn’t just walk out of there.”
Police convinced Savannah Guthrie’s mother didn’t leave her home willingly
While Nanos told the press that Nancy Guthrie does not have cognitive issues saying she’s “sharp as a tack,” he noted that “she is very limited in her mobility,” adding, “she couldn’t walk 50 yards by herself.” While he said law enforcement doesn’t want to rule out anything out, Nanos told CBS Evening News’ Jon Vigliotti that “I believe she was abducted,” adding, “she didn’t go willingly.”

Authorities said that they found life-saving medications, which the 84-year-old must take on a daily basis, and Guthrie’s cell phone in her home. Authorities currently don’t know if her disappearance was a targeted attack.
The sheriff’s office says that they are reviewing video from camera’s inside the house and have asked neighbor’s to share any video they may have from their own. Nano’s also asked the public to call in anything that they see and take photos or videos if they see something suspicious and share them with authorities.
