Confirmed Social Security payment schedule for 2025
The Social Security Administration has shared the official payment schedule for 2025 after the COLA was released. Benefits are sent out on these dates.
The 2025 Social Security payment schedule has been confirmed after the cost-of-living adjustment of 2.5% was released. The Social Security Administration has already begun sending out the first round of payments in the new year.
According to the Social Security Administration schedule, Supplemental Security Income payments are sent out on the first day of each month. On the third day of each month, the administration sends money to beneficiaries who began receiving their retirement payments before May 1997.
The rest of the Social Security checks (retirees, survivors and SSDI) are sent on Wednesdays, according to the date of birth of the beneficiaries:
- Second Wednesday of the month: retirees with a date of birth between the 1st and 10th
- Third Wednesday: beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th
- Fourth Wednesday: retirees born between the 21st and 31st
If any payment date falls on a weekend or holiday, payment is advanced to the first preceding business day.

- Tuesday, December 31, 2024: Supplemental Security Income recipients will receive their January payment early, as January 1 is a holiday
- Friday, January 3: Recipients who began receiving their payments before May 1997
- Wednesday, January 8: Recipients with birth dates between the 1st and the 10th
- Wednesday, January 15: Recipients with birth dates between the 11th and the 20th
- Wednesday, January 22: Recipients with birth dates between the 21st and the 31st
- Friday, January 31: Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients (Payment for February 2025).
February
- Monday, February 3: Recipients who began receiving payments before May 1997
- Wednesday, February 12: Recipients with birth dates between the 1st and 10th
- Wednesday, February 19: Recipients with birth dates between the 11th and 20th
- Wednesday, February 26: Recipients with birth dates between the 21st and 31st
- Friday, February 28: Supplemental Security Income recipients (March Payment)
March
- Monday, March 3: Beneficiaries who began receiving their payments before May 1997
- Wednesday, March 12: Beneficiaries with birth dates between the 1st and the 10th

Social Security payments are sent via direct deposit to beneficiaries who have provided bank account details to the Social Security Administration, or via postal mail, which takes longer to arrive.
