Costco just dropped its most iconic fall product—and it’s going to sell out fast
Large swaths of the US are having autumn-like weather so seeing this delicacy typical of Thanksgiving at Costco so early seems just right.
The Labor Day weekend, the unofficial start of the fall season, is behind us. However, much of the nation was already feeling the autumn vibes with an unusually chilly cold spell across large swaths of the United States.
One of the hallmarks of this time of year is pumpkin spice products. Starbucks began selling its beloved autumnal flavored lattes last week and to customers’ delight, Costco’s famous pumpkin pies began appearing in stores.
Taste of fall comes to Costco
Costco typically begins stocking select stores with its popular pumpkin pies in the last week of August and continues the rollout through September. Since it first came to the store’s bakeries in 1987, it has become a must have throughout the fall for many.
Costco hasn’t rocked the boat over the years, following a simple tried-and-true recipe, using real pumpkin puree, which results in a balanced and not too sweet pie that people rave about online.
Customers will also be pleased to know that Costco has kept the price for a 12-inch, 58-ounce pie at $5.99, a heck of a deal in today’s economy. Many netizens have noted that you can’t make a homemade pie for that price.
Costco’s pumpkin pies should stay on the shelves through December, that is if supply doesn’t run out before you make it to the store near you.
