Costco will close all its branches in the United States soon: There will be no service on this date
The popular wholesale store will be shutting its doors for 24 hours on December 25 and has reduced hours on many other national holidays across 2026.

Costco will be a top choice for people preparing for the busy holiday period but shoppers should make sure that they get everything they need before the big day.
The warehouse chain confirmed that it will close on December 25 in observation of the Christmas Day holiday. All locations will resume in-person service on Friday, December 26.
During some federal holidays and other festive occasions, supermarkets close and give their employees the day off so customers should plan their shopping accordingly. Many stores and supermarkets, including Costco, also have reduced hours on Christmas Eve so be sure to check with your local store before heading out.

What businesses are closed at Christmas?
As it is an official holiday, federal government offices must close and government employees have the day off.
On Christmas Day banks, post offices and the stock exchange are also closed. Unlike other holidays when stores remain open, on Christmas Day most major supermarkets are closed. As for restaurants and food options, some remain open, but a few also choose to close.
Costco is one of the stores that observes the most holidays. Its holiday calendar includes: New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
In addition to the upcoming Christmas Day holiday on December 25, Costco will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026 for New Year’s Day. Next year, Costco will also be closed on these dates:
- Easter Day: April 5, 2026
- Memorial Day (last Monday of May): May 25, 2026.
- Independence Day: July 3, 2026 (although this holiday is commemorated on July 4, because in 2026 it falls on a Saturday, it is observed one day earlier).
- Labor Day (first Monday of September): September 7, 2026.
- Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday of November): November 26, 2026.
- Christmas Day: December 25, 2026
