SSA has established a schedule for sending payments. Generally, Supplemental Security Income benefits are sent on the first day of each month. However, if the first day of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday, payment is advanced to the last Friday of the previous month.

Meanwhile, on the 3rd of each month, SSA sends money to beneficiaries who began receiving their monthly payments before May 1997. If the third day of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the payment is also advanced.

  • Third Wednesday: beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th day
  • Fourth Wednesday: retirees born between the 21st and 31st
