Do you shop at Walmart online? Meet Wally, Walmart’s new AI tool: Here’s how it works
The retail outlet has launched their very own AI to help customers find what they are looking for on the shelves and online.

US supermarket giant Walmart has developed their own bespoke generative AI tool for its category merchants that automates several time-consuming processes, the company confirmed in a press release this week.
The tool, dubbed Wally, has been built using Walmart’s proprietary data and is, they claim intuitive to use, requiring no technical training, Walmart said. Wally seeks to streamline the extensive data analysis that merchants typically conduct when making buying decisions.
“Merchants can simply ask questions and receive actionable insights in seconds,” the company stated.
Every Day Low Cost and Every Day Low Price are the cornerstones of our business. Investments in automation, technology and associates are helping us move faster and more efficiently. https://t.co/iv3tvN6civ $WMT pic.twitter.com/YIK0OZYZjD

The supermarket giant also state that the Walmart merchants’ response to Wally has been overwhelmingly positive, but that this is just the beginning. The claim: “we’ll continuously improve the tool – guided by the feedback and needs of Walmart merchants – ultimately enabling it to act autonomously on the merchant’s behalf within configurable guardrails, executing tactical actions necessary to bring their strategy to life".
