Earthquake hits Los Angeles area: How big was it and where was the epicenter?

An earthquake shook the Los Angeles region Saturday morning, another in a very active 2024 of tremors in Southern California.

The United States Geological Survey has reported that a 3.5 and 3.9 magnitude earthquakes rocked Southern California on Saturday. The epicenter was located 3.5 miles southeast of the Ontario, CA near Los Angeles.

Early reports indicated that residents in Montebello, Pasadena and Chino felt the earthquake.

So far no structural damage or injuries have been reported in the area.

The quake is the 14th in the region so far this year. Southern California is prone to experience tremors, but this year is already above the average of 10 to 12 per year. The US Geological Survey says the first quake struck at 10:05 a.m. and the second at 10:34 a.m. local time.
