Elon Musk announces two more subscription tiers for Twitter: What do they include?

Elon Musk has announced new subscription tiers for the social network Twitter/X, which will soon arrive on the platform. What features will they include?

Elon Musk X

The social network acquired by billionaire Elon Musk can’t seem to stay out of the news. Twitter, now renamed X, is immersed in uncertainty, waiting to find out what will happen to the platform in Europe. Meanwhile, its owner has announced two new paid subscriptions, a total of three models that will be determined by the amount of advertising they will be subject to.

“Two new tiers of X Premium subscriptions launching soon. One is lower cost with all features, but no reduction in ads, and the other is more expensive, but has no ads,” he wrote on his X account. Therefore, these will be the three plans confirmed to date:

  • Basic plan: with advertising
  • Standard plan: less advertising
  • Premium plan: without advertising

Will X disappear from Europe?

Elon Musk does not seem to be interested in having to sift through the false information that is spread on his social network, since according to Business Insider, the tycoon is considering closing his operations in Europe to avoid applying the new Digital Services Act.

This law came into effect last August and requires filtering and eliminating false information in order to avoid misinformation. The European Union is already investigating X, which it suspects of publishing false information about the Hamas attack on Israel.

A $1 charge for new users

Another of Musk’s recent moves has been to charge $1 to all new Twitter accounts in New Zealand and the Philippines, a testing ground that will serve, according to the social network, to combat the bots that are rampant on the platform.

The Not A Bot program will not affect existing accounts, while new accounts that do not pay will still be able to follow other accounts and read, but not post, any tweets.
