The 51-year-old also vowed in the post that he would abide by the results of his Twitter referendum. With a few hours left to vote, the results stood at 57% saying “yes”, and 43% saying “no”.

A more democratic Twitter?

The billionaire also wrote that in the future, he would make changes in the organization based on a more democratic process.

“Going forward, there will be a vote for major policy changes. My apologies. Won’t happen again,” he tweeted.

Musk has spent a lot of time on the social media site since purchasing it. As evidenced by the comments on his poll, there are speculations that there are bigger reasons behind his latest action than simply an attempt at having more democracy in the organization, such as pressure from investors.
