Elon Musk's revolution arrives with his new Starlink satellite internet to phones, here's how it works
Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet will be available for cellphones. With this service, mobile users can get a signal in remote areas and dead zones.
Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite intenet service, has been delivering high speed internet to even the most remote locations including at sea, and now its partnership with T-Mobile has been approved by the Federal Communications Commission to provide the service to cellphone users.
It’s the first time the FCC has approved a tie-up between a satellite operator and a wireless carrier to provide telecommunications coverage from space.
The collaboration between the two companies seeks to expand internet access for cellphone users in remote areas and dead zones. T-Mobile has said cell towers are unable to reach over half a million square miles of the United States.

Starlink available for homes and business
Starlink’s satellite internet service is already operating in 40 countries, and is currently available for homes, businesses, marine vessels, and commercial airplanes.
It’s operated by SpaceX, which makes and launches the satellites from its facilities in the U.S., and provides both the service and the necessary equipment. One advantage of getting internet through Starlink is that unlike the rest of the competition, it is not necessary to subscribe to any contract with the company.
Its operation is also different from that of other providers, since no installation with cables or any infrastructure is necessary. Instead, you need to simply place a device similar to a small satellite dish pointing towards the sky.

Starlink coverage
You can check the coverage in the United States and different parts of the world on the company’s website. It’s possible to enjoy the Starlink connection practically anywhere in the country, including rural areas that not all operators can reach. Starlink’s download speed can reach 350 Mb/s (megabytes per second).
Try Starlink for free
If you are curious about how the service works, Starlink allows you to receive the equipment and test the connection for 30 days completely free of charge. If at the end of the period you are not satisfied, you can return the device without any penalty. You just have to register at this link.
