Everything you need to know about the new ‘My AI’ chatGPT powered chatbot for Snapchat
It seems there’s no stopping the AI revolution. Snapchat’s the latest to join the bandwagon, introducing its ‘My AI’ to subscribers with resounding success.
After the enormous splash created by ChatGPT, AI has been at the forefront of tech news. Now, Snapchat is the latest to join the artificial intelligence bandwagon.
Snapchat has launched an OpenAI-powered chat bot called ‘My AI’ to its global users. They had initially introduced the feature in February to its Snapchat+, but it is now available to any user of the social media app.
Since its introduction two months ago, the chatbot has been receiving almost two million chat messages each day from users wanting to learn more about topics such as sports, news, and pets.

Snapchat tells users to take advice with a grain of salt
My AI conversations will not be deleted, unlike Snapchat’s other messaging feature. The app has a disclaimer of sorts, warning users that they should not rely on My AI’s advice, even as Snapchat tries to avoid harmful or incorrect responses.
The chatbot will provide answers for as long as questions follow community guidelines.
Personalize your My AI chatbot
Snapchat has made the chatbot fun to use, with users being able to customize its name and make a bitmoji or cartoon representation of it.
Group chats will also be able to use My AI, with members typing @ My AI followed by their question, which the chatbot will then answer for the group.
My AI will soon have the capacity to create photos within Snapchat.
How to remove My AI from your chat feed
If you are not a fan of generative AI, you may delete or unpin My AI from your chat feed. Just swipe right from the camera screen to access the view screen, press and hold ‘My AI’, then select ‘Chat Settings’. Choosing ‘Clear from Chat Feed’.
Another option is to open your settings, scroll to ‘Privacy Controls’, select ‘Clear Data’, ‘Clear Conversations’, then tap on the ‘X’ next to My AI.
