A mandatory evacuation order is currently in place for parts of Talmadge south of Highway 8 to Montezuma Road, from east of Fairmount Ave to west of Yerba Anita Drive. Also south of Montezuma Road to north of Adams Ave, for sections east of Fairmount Ave and west of Colwood Blvd. The evacuation point is at 5155 Greenbriar Ave.

The SDPD listed the following road closures and evacuations in a post on social media a little after 3 pm:

  • Colwood between Monroe and Montezuma.
  • Montezuma between Fairmont and 55th.
  • Fairmont from the i8 to Aldine.
  • Camino Del Rio south at Fairmont.

You can check the latest evacuation orders at the County of San Diego online interactive OES Emergency Map.

While the road closures will be in place until midnight at least, the SDPD in a later post said that residents of the Colwood area may safely return to their residence. However, they advise to have proof of address to be granted access through the road blocks to avoid delays.

Residents in the evacuation areas should be prepared to find that there is no electricity. Crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.
