Tonight the first Republican debate will take place. What time does it start and who will be involved?
This Wednesday, 23 August, the first Republican debate of the 2024 presidential primaries will take place. According to official information from the Republican National Committee, only eight candidates from the party will face off against each other; Donald Trump won’t be attending.
Trump says there is no point in attending thanks to voters already knowing him, besides, he is so far ahead of the others in polling. Instead, Trump recorded an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, which will be airing simultaneously with the debate.

The first Republican Party primary debate will take place tonight, Wednesday, August 23, at 9:00 p.m. ET, and will run for two hours, which means that the event will end at 11:00 p.m. ET.
There will be no opening statements, so the event will start immediately with the questions. Participants are expected to be questioned about Donald Trump’s arrests, immigration and border security, foreign policy, and inflation.

The Republican debate this Wednesday is presented by Fox News, so the chain will broadcast the event completely live through its television channels. It should be mentioned that the broadcast will start an hour before, sharp at 8:00 p.m. ET.
