How to check a flight status
To see whether your flight is delayed or canceled visit your airline’s official website or mobile app such as Delta American Airlines United Southwest and others.
You will need your flight number or route and the date of travel. It is recommended to enable notifications to receive alerts about any changes. The Federal Aviation Administration website also provides information on airport delays. Third-party platforms such as FlightAware FlightStats FlightRadar24 and FlightView can also be useful.

How to request a refund if your flight was delayed or canceled
In cases of delays or cancellations airlines typically offer options such as rebooking, meal vouchers, accommodation, transportation, travel credits or miles.
If a flight is canceled consumers are entitled to a refund if the airline canceled the flight for any reason and the passenger chooses not to travel or declines alternative compensation. In the case of a schedule change or a significant delay travelers are entitled to a refund if they decide not to travel or not to accept compensation.
The agency states that airlines must inform consumers about cancellations delays or major changes, and about their right to a refund. To request a refund or another form of compensation passengers must contact the airline directly through its app, online, phone service or at an airport help desk.
