Florida woman owes more than $165,000 for illegally parking her car at home
Various media outlets have reported the case of a single mother who owes more than $165,000 in fines for illegally parking vehicles in her garage.

An unusual case has emerged in Orlando, Florida, where a single mother is facing a major financial burden after accumulating over $165,000 in municipal fines.
Univision reported that the woman, a mother of three, owes this sum following a ruling on her appeal to the Florida Supreme Court. The fines were issued for improperly parking vehicles in her driveway.
According to documents, the city imposed fines of approximately $250 per day for a year because four vehicles were parked in front of her house, exceeding the permitted driveway width and encroaching on the lawn.
Members of the Institute for Justice described the fines as excessive, arguing that they violate the Excessive Fines Clause of the Florida Constitution and are disproportionate.
