Former princess of Qatar Kasia Galliano found dead

It has been reported that Galliano, the ex-wife of former Qatari minister Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al Thani, was found dead on Sunday.

Former princess of Qatar Kasia Galliano has been found dead in her home in Marbella, Spain, it has been reported.

Galliano’s death suspected to be overdose

The 45-year-old Polish-American is the ex-wife of Abdelaziz bin Khalifa Al Thani, the uncle of the emir of Qatar.

The autopsy on her body was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, but initial tests suggest she died of a drug overdose.

Locked in custody battle with former husband

Galliano’s death comes in the midst of a bitter, long-running legal battle with Al Thani for custody of the pair’s three daughters, amid allegations that the former Qatari minister sexually abused one of their children.

One of their three daughters, who is 17, has alleged sexual abuse by her father when she was aged between nine and 15.

According to several publications, the fight for custody of her daughters had led Galliano to suffer from depression. In March, she gave her first public interview about the ordeal, declaring that she feared for her daughters’ safety.

Born in Los Angeles, Galliano was Al Thani’s third wife. They met in 2004 in Paris, when Galliano was a student at the University of California, before marrying. She moved to Marbella after her divorce from Al Thani.
