Free donuts? Here's how to get your tasty treats for World Kindness Day

Krispy Kreme is taking World Kindness Day to the next level with a campaign to invite and inspire people to spread kindness with free doughnuts on Nov. 13.

This Wednesday, November 13 is World Kindness Day 2024. Around the world people are encouraged to perform acts of generosity and good deeds for others as well as celebrate those that others already do.

The global celebration came into being when a collection of humanitarian groups came together to make a “Declaration of Kindness” on November 13, 1997. The following year the date was set aside to observe annually World Kindness Day.

This year, Krispy Kreme is inviting people to spread kindness as part of a global campaign which includes free doughnuts. The North Carolina-based company hopes you will be inspired to not only enjoy one of their sweet pastries, but also share them with others.

“World Kindness Day is a reminder that we can all make a positive impact in people’s lives, including through small gestures like sharing a sweet treat. We hope that each dozen Original Glazed doughnuts we give away enables and inspires many dozens of small acts of kindness,” said Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer at Krispy Kreme.

How can I show kindness on World Kindness Day?

On World Kindness Day you can get into the act beyond just sharing a donut. You can make donations to local community organizations or people in need of books, food, or clothes.

You can also just make simple gestures of kindness, helping a neighbor carry their groceries or holding a door open for someone. Pay someone a compliment or give up control of the remote for the day.

Likewise you can celebrate World Kindness Day by making a pledge to perform other acts of kindness and generosity or your own declaration “to build a kinder and more compassionate world.”
