Americans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming solar eclipse that will traverse the United States from Texas to New England. Pennsylvania is positioned for prime viewing of the awe-inspiring celestial phenomenon with the path of totality passing over four northwestern counties.

Most of the rest of the state lies within the 90 percent range. However, those who do go out to view the wonderous sight should wear special protective glasses or risk permanently damaging your eyes.

Fortunately, to make sure that people gaze upon the celestial event safely, there are places giving them away free or along with a small purchase.

Two eyewear chains will be handing out free solar eclipse viewing glasses while supplies last. The free safety glasses will be available at all Warby Parker locations starting 1 April until the big day itself. Likewise, they will be available at select MyEyeDr. offices across the country on the house. But they warn to “hurry, these won’t last long!”

Both companies provide DIY instructions to make your own pair if you miss out or cannot get to one of their locations.

Sonic will be serving “Blackout Slush Float,” a special eclipse drink, from March 25 to May 5. However, on the actual day of the total eclipse you can get a pair of solar eclipse viewing glasses when you order a Blackout Slush Float.

Certain locations of Smoothie King in five states along the path of totality will give customers a free pair of solar eclipse glasses when they purchase a 20 oz or larger Eclipse Berry Blitz Smoothie.
