Gigi Hadid arrested for marijuana possession: Will she go to jail?
Gigi Hadid has been arrested at an airport in the Cayman Islands after customs officials found marijuana and paraphernalia for its use in her luggage.
Gigi Hadid has been arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and smoking instruments after flying last week from the United States to have a girls’ vacation at the Cayman Islands.
According to entertainment media outlet TMZ, the model landed on a private plane at the Owen Roberts International Airport on July 10 and passed through customs with her luggage, at which time the agents of Customs and Border Control discovered a small amount of the drug and various paraphernalia for its consumption.
The agents who carried out the search determined that the amount of marijuana that Hadid and her companion were carrying was for personal consumption, but that did not prevent the authorities from proceeding to arrest them on suspicion of importing marijuana. The drug is legal in Grand Cayman, but bringing it in from another country is not.
