Good news for Target shoppers in these cities: Faster deliveries are on the way
Customers in more locations across the U.S. are to benefit from next-day delivery.
U.S. discount store Target says it is ramping up its shipment capabilities, by widening the geographical reach of next-day delivery on online orders.
Target’s rapid-shipment drive comes as the Minneapolis-based retailer seeks to arrest a slide in revenue.
Which locations are getting next-day Target delivery?
In a press release issued this week, Target said nine metropolitan areas in the U.S. are to be added to the retailer’s list of locations where next-day delivery is available:
- Charlotte, NC: by end of Oct
- Cleveland, OH: by end of Oct
- Durham, NC: by end of Sep
- Kansas City, MO: by end of Sep
- Orlando, FL: by end of Oct
- Pittsburgh, PA: by end of Sep
- San Diego, CA: by end of Oct
- St. Louis, MO: by end of Sep
- Tampa, FL: by end of Oct
Target also says it is out to expand next-day shipping to a further 20 metropolitan areas in 2026. These locations include Cincinnati, OH; Portland, OR; and Salt Lake City, UT.

How much does next-day delivery cost?
For regular customers, Target offers free next-day delivery for orders over $35. If you hold a Target Circle 360 membership card, there is no minimum spend. This is also the case if you use the Target Circle reward card for your purchase.
Without exemptions, shipping typically costs $5.99, according to Target’s website.
CEO to go as Target takes revenue hit
In August, Target reported that this year’s second-quarter operating income was 19.4% lower than in the same period 12 months ago.
This summer, Target also confirmed that Brian Cornell is to be replaced as the company’s chief executive in February, making way for the current chief operating officer, Michael Fiddelke.
Speaking to reporters in the wake of the announcement, Fiddelke said he is “stepping in with urgency to rebuild momentum and return to profitable growth”, per CNBC.
