Update:

Have you received a warning from Netflix that your TV or other streaming device will no longer support the app? You are not alone, and here’s what you can do.

Over the past few years, many Netflix users have reported on online forums that they are receiving these warnings. One individual wrote on Quora that they would soon be cut off and had only purchased their TV six years before. Through their Help Center, Netflix has confirmed that these messages are going out and will read as follows:

  • Netflix will no longer be available on this device after [DATE]. Please visit netflix.com/compatibledevices for a list of supported devices.
  • Netflix is no longer available on this device. Please visit netflix.com/compatibledevices for a list of supported devices.

Which devices are no longer supported?

Most TVs from popular manufacturers, including LG, Panasonic, and LG will still be able to power the Netflix app so long as they were produced after 2014, according to the individual Netflix profiles for each company.

However, in addition to older televisions, Tom’s Guide reported that the following devices have also stopped supporting the Netflix app: Samsung Blu-ray players, the PlayStation Vita, the PlayStation TV, and the Toshiba Blu-ray players.

For those who prefer to stream on their iPhone or iPad, Tom’s Guide also informed owners of these devices that Netflix will phase out the availability of their app on devices that are unable to support iOS 16, including iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPad (5th generation 2017), iPad Pro (1st generation 2015).
