How and where to consult the US visa lottery results 2025

Every year, the U.S. Department of State launches a call for the visa lottery. Through this, the government grants nearly 55,000 visas for permanent residence to individuals who come from countries with a low immigration rate to the United States. This visa will allow beneficiaries to potentially obtain U.S. citizenship in the future.

People who wish to participate in the visa lottery must be citizens of a country with a low immigration rate to the United States, have 12 years of primary and secondary education or its equivalent, or have at least two years of work experience within the last five years in an eligible occupation.

Those who applied to the visa lottery for the year 2025 can now consult the results of the draw. Here’s how to do it step by step.

How and where to consult the US visa lottery 2025

The results became available on May 4 and can be viewed on the Diversity Visa Program website. Before consulting it, we recommend that you have the 16-digit confirmation number (numbers and letters) on hand.

Once you have it, go to the website and click on the “Check Status” option. Select the “Continue option, enter the requested information and enter the authentication captcha. Finally, click on “Submit” so that the system gives you the results.

If drawn, the beneficiaries must begin the process of acquiring the resident visa by submitting immigration form DS-260 to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services or USCIS. Subsequently, they will receive an email indicating a date and time of interview with the embassy. It will be through this that the government will determine whether to approve or deny the visa. Participants are advised to keep their confirmation number until September 30, 2025.
